Hehe, a series of questions:

第一第二个我也不知道怎么分析,其它给一个参考。欢迎拍砖。

Three percent of beer volume is alcohol, compared with wine's twelve percent and whiskey, cognac, and rum's forty percent.

A. Three percent of beer volume is alcohol, compared with wine's twelve percent and whiskey, cognac, and rum's forty percent

C. By volume, beer is three percent alcohol, compared with wine, which is twelve percent alcohol; whiskey, rum and cognac are each forty percent alcohol

E. The percentage of beer volume that is alcohol is three; that of wine is twelve, and that of whiskey, cognac, and rum is forty.

Why choose C?

比较对象对等A wine’s 没有对比对象;E应该是that of wine volume….

Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark, the man-eater of the movies—less than those killed by bee stings.

B movies—fewer than have been

D movies, a number lower than the people

                A number

In good years, the patchwork of green fields that surround the San Joaquin
                        Valley
town bustles with farm workers, many of them
in the area just for the season.

(A) surround the San Joaquin
                    Valley
town bustles with farm workers, many of them

(E) surrounds the San Joaquin
                    Valley
town bustles with farm workers, many are

A  E句子run-onA也有歧义them可以指代fields.

In an effort to reduce their inventories, Italian vintners have cut prices; their wines have been priced to sell, and they are.

(A) have been priced to sell, and they are

(C) are priced to sell, and they do

One pervasive theory explains the introduction of breakfast cereals in the early 1900s as a result of the growing number of automobiles, which led to a decline in horse ownership and a subsequent grain glut; by persuading people to eat what had previously been horse feed, market equilibrium was restored.

(B) persuading people to eat what had previously been horse feed restored market equilibrium

(D) the persuasion of people to eat what had previously been horse feed restored market equilibrium

(E) market equilibrium was restored when people were persuaded to eat former horse feed

B

More than thirty years ago Dr. Barbara Mc-Clintock, the Nobel Prize winner, reported that genes can “jump,” as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another.

(A) as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another

(B) like pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another

B

The work of mathematician Roger Penrose in the early 1970s, on the geometry of what are called aperiodic tiles, turned out to describe the architecture of a previously unknown class of crystals.

(A) what are called aperiodic tiles, turned out to describe

(B) what is called aperiodic tiles, describes

A

  B中的describes时态不正确,in the early 1970s.

The particular design of muscles and bones in the neck and limbs of the turtle allow that it can draw in its exposed parts such that an attacker can find nothing but hard shell to bite.

A.      allow that it can draw in its exposed parts such that

B.      allow it to draw in its exposed parts, and so

C.      allows for it to draw in its exposed parts and that

D.     allows that it can draw in its exposed parts, and so

E.      allows it to draw in its exposed parts, so that

Why choose D?

The work of mathematician Roger Penrose in the early 1970s, on the geometry of what are called aperiodic tiles, turned out to describe the architecture of a previously unknown class of crystals.

(A) what are called aperiodic tiles, turned out to describe

(B) what is called aperiodic tiles, describes

A

而且我是看The work of 。。。

The particular design of muscles and bones in the neck and limbs of the turtle allow that it can draw in its exposed parts such that an attacker can find nothing but hard shell to bite.

C.      allows for it to draw in its exposed parts and that

D.     allows that it can draw in its exposed parts, and so

E.      allows it to draw in its exposed parts, so that

Why choose D?

D中and和so可以连用?
