本人背景:big 4 (4years)+financial advisor (2years), top university bachelor in China. average G, T and GPA.
Kelley VS USC:18和21(BusinessWeeks 2006)。
good analysis
Vote for USC if there is no scholarship from both.
Attending business school is for sure a big investment; however, an MBA from a decent school also means a strong return on investment throughout your career.
那么两年118,000刀,即944,000RMB(汇率暂按8:1)。
那么两年87,930刀,即703,440RMB(汇率暂按8:1)。
Hi, LZ. Have you got the official package from Kelley? Any scholarship?
I also get Kelley's admission and my interest is in finance.
In addition, we are both from Renmin U. Haha.
USC sounds better.....Location, location, location.....plus its strong alum net work as a private school and brand name in Asia.
Thinking about it: what does it mean if the location is better but ranking is not?
The one who has no good location must have something else sepcial, and it may be what you want.

What is the big deal in slight difference of ranking? If Kelly ranks in top 10 while USC stays in 20s, I will call a difference. I am not from USC, but I am sure if you talk to those Americans, private schools still mean a lot. When I first came to this country six years ago, I was really surprised to see people here only care about local public schools and those well-known private schools. Internationals know (or care) more about rankings than those americans.
As for B-schools, it is hard to deny the fact that location would add more values as long as the ranking difference is not that huge.
Either location or reputation is one consideration. But what means much to us? Every one will get different answer because each has different career goal. Even though two people both want to enter I/B or consulting, their goals are not the same. So lz, our suggestions and feeling of a school are only from personal perspective, no one should know your goal more clearer than yourself. What means much to your career? Location, network, background, reputation, ranking ...... ? Or a combination of these reasons.
