对答案不质疑,但对D又有个新问题:

D中,although skiers…., there are…这个there are不是个独立的句子吗?怎么能在让步从句中呢?不太明白...

although引导的是让步状语从句，there be...是主句，而不是“在让步从句中”。

没任何问题。在张道真语法书中也找到了相同的例句：

Exhausted though she was, there was no hope of her being able to sleep.
