Please take a quick look at the question below.

The key is A, while in GMAT, I don't think "which" can represent a sentence. This has been mentioned a couple of times in Prep_SC_notes_By findjuhl-21th. Please advice. Thanks.

Q41:

Elk now live almost solely in the Rocky Mountains, which would make it seem that elk are mountain dwellers, while they once ranged over virtually all of the continental United States except for a small strip in the extreme Southwest.

which不能指代句子，这种说法要分情况，绝大多数都是对的，但不能完全否定

这就是为什么sc没有一个万能的法则

逻辑优先吧,强调的是前面NOW这一句，现在住在山里，被认为是mountain dweller,虽然怎么怎么样

B的这个but...感觉重心调了个个儿

新东方的教材里这题答案是B，

其他4个选项也确实明白错了

但是10楼的关于it的问题我也有点疑惑。

我原来觉得it是形式主语指代后面的that从句

是不是一般seem都用 it seems that 的形式呢，并且这里seem又是复数的，跟it不一致啊，不理解。

因为这里是
make it seem ，make当使役动词后面加原形动词。

ETS真恶心！

觉得如果这题真的选A，那么逻辑意思就是唯一的解释了。原句while引导从句说过去的事，主句在前面，重心在说现在的事。而B选项用but，主从顺序颠倒了，重心转到说过去的事了。

语法上来说，A除了那个which之外，确实没什么错误，表达也很简洁清晰，把前后两个转折意思的事实写成ETS式的两个分句。记得很多SC的题目都是企图把两个分句写成一个整句造成awkward，作为错误选项的。

但是A的那个which，也经常出现在错误选项里的。

而B中的the fact that....would make it seem that.....确实不是很简洁.......

所以，我觉得相比之下，A虽然有错误（只是which的问题），但B的错误更多（不太简洁，主从句子重心改变－这个最致命）。所以我投降，投靠A去了。

哎，以后记得长个心眼，难选的时候先看看句子逻辑意思！
