答案是C，请问A错是因为Initiated发生在on Columbus Day 1992，而five centuries after Europeans arrived in the New World 是修饰on Columbus Day 1992的，所以语序上A会有歧义，C比较好对吗？

应该是吧，因为这里有两个动词：initiate 和 arrive，所以介词修饰要紧跟所修饰的动词

C用中间逗号部分做同位语，用来修饰on C Day 1992，即使去掉同位语，句子的意思也不会改变

A的话会读出两种不同的意思，一种是在1992年C day这天欧洲人到达新世界后的五个世纪，项目Initiated；另一种是C要表达的意思。
