标题: [offer]MIS@Maryland

My first offer.

Does anybody know the quality of this program? How is the placement?

Besides a full graduate assistantship, the financial support package includes "10 credit hours of tuition remission each semester". Is this tution waiver enough?

BTW: It is also possible for me to get an offer from University of Arizona. If I have to choose between Maryland and Arizona, which one is better? Thx very much.

Congrats! I like Maryland for its strength in IS and big faculty size. I have also applied but have yet to hear from it....

It is difficult to compare UMD with U of A without knowing what your specific interest, etc.

So far as I know, UMD only admits two students this year. Another seems to be a domestic applicant.

My application process for UMaryland is nearly the same as papawaigo, except the final result.

After a telephone interview with another professor, I was also interviewed face-to-face in Beijing with the same professor as papawaigo with (I think so, because the professor told me he will interview two students in beijing and one in shanghai)

After about one week, I get to know that I was put on the waiting list. If UMD really only admit two students, the waiting list means rejection...

Anyway congratulations to papawaigo. I think UA is so focused on technical side of IS, so if you want to study the organizational or economical sides of IS, choose UMaryland.

楼上的GGJJ分享下背景吧～～本人信管大四的，今年基本申请的master，MIS，目前一些AD。实在是没什么竞争力，没有研究经历和论文·～～想看看GGJJ的背景，以敦促自己MS好好学习，呵呵···万分感激～～
