答案是E。我的问题不是results后面省略了be的问题，而是that的问题。白勇在形式对称原则中提到一条：宾语从句并列，连词that不能省略。但E选项the results前省略了that（the levels前面是有that的）。这样岂不是跟一直强调的宾语从句that不能省略的说法矛盾了吗？恳请NN指点！

如果that前面的那个词在that从句中做宾语的话，that是可以省略的，比如 I bought the book (that)I really want (that book). 但如果 I saw that Tom bought that book. 这里的that就不能省略了。不知道我说的对不对，还请NN指正，谢谢！

到现在不明白,为什么省be

白勇在并列结构的省略中提到一条：两个句子并列，第一个句子含有be动词或者become，第二个句子中的be动词或者become必须省略。例如：

One the economic and social usefullness of the motor car was demonstrated and its superiority to the horse (was省略)proved. 同理，上题中的E选项：that the levels of bacteria in seawater at popular beaches be measured and the results（be省略）published.
