标题: Offer: IS@UTexas Austin

by the way, 有没有人知道德州的学费是咋回事？信里没有说tuition waive，而是只报销一个比较小的金额，然后又说工作20小时每周的话可以交in-state tuition。是不是意味着我要从financial support里扣掉一部分做为州内学费？

原话是Ph.D student that work at least 20 hours per week in a semester pay in-state tuition for that semester.

意思应该是做TA/RA的人可以只交in-state tuition吧？

不是，意思是说你做TA/RA，系里会给你付In-state tuition，你自己付out-of-state tuition，这是很普遍的

to lz，我也收到他们家的offer了，我拿到的是risk management，不过正式的offer letter 还没到。偶发信问过系里了，其实他们还有其他的补贴的，比如tuition是会waive掉的。

能不能详细说说？我知道UT的IS规模大，所以排名靠前多少有些是因为人多力量大的缘故，除此之外的？他家比如Andrew Winston等等还算是IS的大牛吧，看发paper数量也还算不错

offer letter我问了，说是昨天用快递寄出来的，tuition的事情我也再仔细问问

I think you just pay the in-state tuition, which is usually much lower than the out-state tuition. Your assistantship should be enough to cover your tuition and living expense.
