标题: Oregon PhD in Finance
GPA 3.8, MBA candidate of 2007, GMAT 700/5.0, I thought Oregon PhD in Finance is a lock-in for me until I received my rejection letter from them.........I know I am not impressive on record, but I am really disappointed by the fact that I even flew into the U of O and visited their department head and had a nice 30-minute talk----still a rejection.......

i have not heard anything from them. were u invited for interview? i did not get any info from them....strange!! did u get a mail or email?

I applied 11 schools and 10 of them were not replying, the one that replied was the rejection from Oregon....

I am starting to get bad feelings coz my fall-back school is Cincy and I think I was super naive and stupid to have done that. One of the fellow ChaseDreamers had a similiar GMAT score to mine (700) and his fallback is USF, and that to me, is smart.

To Matser of Floor 7th,

I wasn't even invited to an interview to U of O, though I took the initiative step and went to Eugene Oregon to do an "Mao Suay" self recommendation + interview at the end of last year when I submitted my application form. Now that I think of the move, I think it was dumb to do so....it probably hurt my chances of being admitted....

I just received a rejection letter (in mail) by the U of O as I mentioned above, please don't make me say it again, 555...

Good luck to you, I wish you the best and be honest with you, 730 should get you multiple offers unless all you applied are Ivy schools, don't you worry !

The finance department at UO is said to be pretty strong. good luck to
you guys in the future rounds. I applied to the management department
but so far only got information about how to find suitable housing in
Eugene from the admissions office. Did you receive such information before you were declined?

is it? isn't the rank of this school 63, same as Utah?

I first got a rejection by mail, then got an email from them asking me to send more supporting documents. ridiculous!

Don`t feel sad about that.I just quit from a PhD in UO,not in Finance.Eugene is not a place you want to stay for 4 to 5 place. Although its finance program is ok, its qualify exam fail several chinese students.And students spend too much time on teaching rather than doing research.

I heard Oregon has a good finance program, but if teaching takes too much time, it is definitely not a good sign. Hi, guys, there are some schools that are still taking applications:

1) Texas AM U International.

2) UT Elpaso.

3) UT Pan American.

4) Hawaii.
