impact 作动词,是撞击的意思.作名词,是影响.

另外,请问这里,have a impact / have a impact 有什么区别?

谢谢.

原意是影响,不是撞击.

impact sth.  not impact on sth.

when impact is used as n. , impact on sth.
作者: sbbi    时间: 2003-11-4 12:18
have an impact是对..产生影响,
be an impact指是影响本身.

查了LONGMAN,P771

impact : have an important or noticeable effect on sth. or someone

How will this program impact on the local community ?

impact ,可能不是这个的问题.

要选refers to

不是“撞击‘,vi 是"发生影响".

作者: BetterMan    时间: 2003-11-4 15:06
以前好像也看到过类似的别的词, Vt和Vi, 挺绕的.
是不是说:
impact: Noun, 当影响讲时应该用 have an impact on
impact: Vt, 没有影响的意思, "压紧", "塞入","碰撞,冲击"
impact: Vi 撞击;发生影响; 表示影响时应该用" impact on st."

longman没有这个用法:impact: Vt, 没有影响的意思, "压紧", "塞入","碰撞,冲击"

impact当动词 尽管接受了但是很很有争议的。 用英文吧?

some people hate to see impact used as a verb " to influence ' or"  have an effect on". some don't even like " impact'  as a noun if " effect ' can be used instead.

but all agree with this usage: 碰撞,冲击

作者: miejue    时间: 2003-11-5 00:42
The use of impact as a verb meaning “to have an effect” often has a big impact on readers.

Eighty-four percent of the Usage Panel disapproves of the construction to impact on, as in the phrase social pathologies, common to the inner city, that impact heavily on such a community;

fully 95 percent disapproves of the use of impact as a transitive verb in the sentence Companies have used disposable techniques that have a potential for impacting our health.

It is unclear why this usage provokes such a strong response, but it cannot be because of novelty. Impact has been used as a verb since 1601, when it meant “to fix or pack in,” and its modern, figurative use dates from 1935. It may be that its frequent appearance in the jargon-riddled remarks of politicians, military officials, and financial analysts continues to make people suspicious.

Nevertheless, the verbal use of impact has become so common in the working language of corporations and institutions that many speakers have begun to regard it as standard. It seems likely, then, that the verb will eventually become as unobjectionable as contact is now, since it will no longer betray any particular pretentiousness on the part of those who use it.

impede是阻止的意思,故不如diminish,对吗?

impact不是可以是及物动词吗,而且意思是影响,那这里的C是不是不要用impact on,而直接用imoact就好了。
