标题: 新人求助一题

Since the 1930’s aircraft manufacturers have tried to build airplanes with frictionless wings, shaped so smoothly and perfectly
that the air passing over them would not become turbulent.
(A) wings, shaped so smoothly and perfectly
(B) wings, wings so smooth and so perfectly shaped
(C) wings that are shaped so smooth and perfect
(D) wings, shaped in such a smooth and perfect manner
(E) wings, wings having been shaped smoothly and perfectly so

我当时很快的就选了C，答案是B

有两点不清楚，（1）从题目的那个地方可以看出perfect是修饰shaped而不是wings？

（2）B中第2个wings的从句是做第一个的同位语吧？？？感觉有些奇怪

请大家指点

（1）从题目的那个地方可以看出perfect是修饰shaped而不是wings？

wings so smooth and so perfectly shaped，是so smooth的 wings 和 so perfectly shaped 的wings。

错在1）wings that are **，that后面是做定语从句修饰wings,那逗号后面实际上就是一个词wings，排除.

2）你要是理解成so smooth and perfect 修饰shaped，那也应该是so smoothly and perfectly吧，所以排除。

（2）B中第2个wings的从句是做第一个的同位语吧？？？感觉有些奇怪

我觉得这里应该不是同位语,我是这样理解的 (欢迎拍砖修正):

逗号前的是个完整的主句，逗号后的wings so smooth and so perfectly shaped 是独立主格做补充说明（我常常是直接把它看成类似于

He came in , with a book in his hands.这样的情况，你看后面也是补充什么他进来时候的状况。）

你看这样理解通了吗?

来,我们来看看B,C.

我觉得你没有看到so** that**（如此，以致）这个结构．如果你觉得Ｃ中＂就是smooth and perfect 都是修饰wings＂，那么你怎么解释句子结构呢？

按你的意思，把Ｃ的主干提出来是：aircraft manufacturers have tried to build airplanes with frictionless wings （that are shaped so smooth and perfect） that the air passing over them would not become turbulent.

你看到了吧？后面那个that应该是＂以致＂的意思，前面那个that后面即使是that are shaped so smoothly and perfectly，你想用它做修饰语放句子里，结构上来看也是不行的．要so** that**的结构．

我认为是：B中的第二个wings就是主句的主语。这个句子是由since引导的从句+主句

如果选C，这个句子就没主语了。

我当时是这样理解的：aircraft manufacturers have tried to build airplanes with frictionless wings （that are shaped so smooth and perfect that the air passing over them would not become turbulent）.

括号里的都是修饰wings，这样子是不是有问题呢？

划句子成分:

（with frictionless wings）, [wings so smooth and so perfectly shaped that the air passing over them would not become turbulent. ]

Since 引导时间状语,而不是引导从句.而且正是因为这个时间状语,后面才用的是完成时have tried.

对不起,我有个地方说错了,smooth是形容词来修饰前面的wings ，不用改成smoothly,不好意思．

ZEL，我懂你的意思了．在Ｂ里，确实是 so smooth的wings， so perfectly shaped 的wings．

但是在Ｃ里，wings （that are shaped so smooth and perfect），后两个词就不是直接修饰wings ，而是（要用副词形式）来修饰 shaped ，然后再整个括号去修饰wings ．是这样的从属关系。

不同意“Since 引导时间状语,而不是引导从句”，如果是“since 1930”那么是前者

我认为整个句子的主要意思是：因为1930年的航空器制造商已尝试了以无摩擦机翼建造飞机，所以成型平滑完美无空气阻力的机翼不会震荡。

Since the 1930's aircraft(定语) manufacturers(从句主语) have tried to build airplanes with frictionless wings, wings(主语) (so smooth and so perfectly shaped that the air passing over them) would not become turbulent.

你又怎样解释that后成分，that后的句子the air (passing over them) would not become turbulent-空气不会震荡吗?意思讲不过去吧。

我认为最重要的是开头的since，后面跟的是the 1930's，这个明显不是时间状语

要注意哈，这是回答你对Ｃ选项的理解．但是Ｃ本身是错误的，也就是说，

wings (that are shaped so smooth and perfect)　这样的修饰是错的．

个人愚见：翻译一下就好了，定语从句应该都可以翻译成“……的”（就是直白地按字面翻译）
wings （that are shaped so smooth and perfect）就是“被塑造得如此光滑和完美的翅膀”
但是 wings （that are shaped so smooth and perfect that the air passing over them would not become turbulent）括号里的部分根本没有办法翻译成“……的”（可以试一下是不是这样）
“翅膀如此光滑和完美，以致于……”已经是一句完整的话了，不能被形容词化为“……的”
