我只写了A,B 答案是B，

我问一下，A的错误是不是it指代不明确？还有该如何判断because of 的从句修饰哪个成份？

最后问一下especially 和specially的区别是什么？请大家指点

我觉得是指代不明.because of 的从句我觉得不是修饰一个成份,而是解释整个前面的句子(或者说是谓语本身,而不应该是修饰一个成分).

简单地举个例子:

他(昨天晚上)病(得很严重),因为他淋雨了.淋雨是解释他"病"谓语,而不是状语昨天晚上,也不是解释很严重.

especially 和specially的区别我的理解,不见得准确,欢迎指正)

especially 是尤其地,特别地,我不知道你是否能体会"尤其"这个词的意思,呵呵,我好象有点说不清.

specially是特别地.建议翻翻语法书,张道真的那本好象有解释.

回答如下：

special比especial更为常用，具体意思这里不解释了，反正一般都是special

especially常用于+adj，表示特别的怎么

specially 常用于某个行动专门为了什么目的

especially+N，表示某某特别怎么怎么，specially + N不大看到

这里应该用especially

it没有指不明啊，amajor contributor to acid rain是同位语解释sulfur dioxide,所以it指的就是sulfur dioxide。

我选A的主要理由是ability和capability，前者是能力，后者是容量

ability和capability都可以表示能力，用法是ability to do/capability of doing/capability to do
