新东方教材42页3题，The lawyer for the defense charged that she suspected the police of having illegally taped her confidential conversations with her client and then used the information obtained to find evidence supporting their murder charges.

a.used the information obtained to find evidence supporting

c.used the information they had obtained to find evidence that would support

d.of using the information they had obtained to find evidence that would support

答案选的D,我没想明白：如果用of using来和之前的of having平行的话，那么这句话就illogical咯，补充出来岂不是she suspected the police of having...and then (she suspected the police of using)...？我觉得应该是used和taped并列比较合理。所以我选咯C.

不知各位NN看法怎样？

你说的没错啊！

use的确和tape平行，她怀疑警察非法偷录她与客户的保密谈话，然后又用此信息作为证据来支持他们的控诉。

而选A “used”，则有与suspected平行的嫌疑。

我想应该是and then使得前后并列句的时间点有了先后关系,having illegally taped发生在前,using发生在后所以只能having和using并列

如果taped和used并列的话,这个then出现在句子中就感觉非常奇怪了
