(B) In contrast with
(C) Opposite of
(D) Unlike
(E) In spite of

答案A。我想问关于B。B没有A简洁，而且A从意思上应该说是更到位。

contrary to 与...相反；
in contrast with 与...成对比

但从语法角度，B有什么不妥吗？或者说，B对吗？

可是b的意思不够明确
与...相比毕竟和与...相反意思是不一样的

主要是意思不一样。

语法上也有区别。

contrary to 在句首，作状语修饰整个句子。

in contrast with ，放在句首，修饰的是主语，要注意比较的一致性。

用 In contrast with 的话应该是 In contrast with A， B .... A 和 B 应该是同一属性（我不知道该表达，总之A 和 B 应该是对称的比如人和人比物和物比）

所以这道题里就成了 popular belief 和 victor 比较所以是不正确的

contrary to不要求平行的，就像前面一位说的，修饰整个句子。in contrast with是要求严格平行的，就是人对人，物对物并且是抽象名词对抽象名词，具体对具体。同理unlike也一样。考虑句意，这里不能平行只能是a
