标题: without/with 的修饰
说实话，我一见with/without 的修饰就怕。不知如何判断该修饰谁？？？？举OG以下几例，请大家帮助。

Og 146, ... will find it difficult ot prove damage without anther doctors' testimony about....

OG 167, N had a vocal tract resembling an ape's , and so were probably without language, a shortcoming that ..

OG 179, During the early years of ... that was viewed as "wilderness" by the newcomers, N A, with their intimate knowledge of the ecology of the land, helped to rescue,,,

OG 251, ....has survived a close brush with extinction...这句话是什么意思啊？

LZM P201,11-9 The Forbidden City ... was a site which no commoner or foreigner could enter without permission.

LZM P201, 11-11 .... that they can raise prices by this amount without provoking strong public reaction.

because i don't have LZM's book. it is hard to discuss without seeing the Q.

joice jj, i just wrote down all the problmes I met in the preparation on my notebook and then typed this question on the post .

If u donnot have LZM, why not refer to the questions in OG? It is ok since they share the same principles with LZM?

og146. 'without' modifies " to provide damage". 壮语
og 167. " without" after " were" ---- 表语
og 179. " with" modifies " Native Americans", 定语
og 251. brush -- alarming encounter.
LZM P201,11-9. ‘without‘ modifies " enter" 壮语
LZM P201, 11-11. ' without' midifies " raise " 壮语

根据逻辑意思来判断，究竟修饰谁。

一。在句末，表状语，修饰的是谓语动词。

1。+ 名词，表示一种条件，如OG 149， LZM 11-9
2。+现在分词，表示伴随状况或结果。如LZM 11-11

二。做表语

尤其要注意主谓的逻辑性，如OG167，

三。做宾语

前面跟名词或名词短语，可加逗号，修饰名词。

另外，OG 251的句意是什么意思啊？谢谢。

I just consulted the dictionary of longman. This is the explantion:

a brush with death : an occasion when something had almost happens to you , but you just manage to avoid it .

I got it now .
