(A) lack math skills to such a large degree as to make it difficult to absorb them into a city economy becoming.
(B) lack math skills to large enough degree that they will be difficult to absorb into a city's economy that becomes.

請問以上這兩個選項錯在哪裡

(A) lack math skills to such a large degree as to make it difficult to absorb them into a city economy becoming ----such ....as to ...可以吗？我记得好象只可以用so ...as to.不能such...as to呀? 请NN指正. 而且我想问的是这里it指代清楚吗?是指代后面的to不定式 to absort them into....吗?

(B) lack math skills to a large enough degree that they will be difficult to absorb into a city’s economy that becomes ---enough...that对吗? that从句中的they will be difficult to absorb不对吧?应该是 to be absorbed吧?因为这里主语是students.

(C) lack of math skills is so large as to be difficult to absorb them into a city’s economy that becomes ----lack是名词,句子fragment

(D) are lacking so much in math skills as to be difficult to absorb into a city’s economy becoming ---逻辑上好象成了students 是absorb的主语.

(E) are so lacking in math skills that it will be difficult to absorb them into a city economy becoming

查了一下longman:such ...as ,无such ...as to,a big enough noun 这样的用法也没有

我的理解是，such A as to...中的A必需是具体的名词，不能用抽象名词，或者动名词；

such ... as to, so as to, so ...that几个中，优先用so ...that，enough to不是标准的gmat用词。

不知道说的对不对，请大牛指正。

还是不是很清楚。"that it will be difficult to absorb them into a city economy becoming" 句中的it 和them 分别指代什么？becoming...什么是becoming 的主语？

個人認為

A選項中就算不管so as to這種ETS不喜歡的用詞外，指代不清（it,them）是最大的問題，基本上和樓上的看法一致

B則是they也有指代不清，enough that 不是常用語法等問題

至於CD就不必說了，所以選E

A、B、C、D中的to absorb是否都应该改为：to be absorbed。如果是的话，为什么OG里只字未提？而且仅凭这一条就可以把正确答案给选出来了。

so as to 的一个特点就是so as to do中do的动作发出者就是前面的主语。即A do sth so as to do....两个do 的主语都是A.例如Students in the metropolitan school district lack math skils to such a large degree as to make it difficult to absorb them into a city economy becoming ever more dependent on information --based industries.
主语是students,a选项里面make it difficult to absorb这一动作的发出者也应该是student显然不合逻辑。make的逻辑主语应该是lack math skills to such a large degree这一个事实。

再看几个例子就清楚了

The little boy ran off so as not to be caught.

Now it has just been seen that the laws of physics are efficiently ordered so as to produce highly desirable states.

The regional economy has been reorganized so as to distribute tasks and responsibilities equitably.

The spouts are placed so as to ensure no seed drops down the deep furrows immediately behind the subsoiler legs.

这也是so as to 与so that 区别之一——so that 前后的主语可以变：比如：A do sth so that B can do...前一个do 还有后一个do动作地发出者不是一个。当然也可以是一个主语，就不举例子了。

B选项里面的enough一般用于不定式enough to do..，而that一般用于so...that...没有enough...that ...这一种表述的。

shiningstar关于so...as to前后同一主语的解释很不错，不过enough后面是可以接to do。PS：当然MM说的是B中的一般。

B to provide workers with unpaid leave so as to

A,B错就是因为 so as to 要求逻辑主语是句子主语employers, 也就歪曲了句意

而正确答案C: to provide workers with unpaid leave so that they can 则清晰无误
