   我觉得这里E正确，因为Aby supporting的逻辑主语可以理解为members

   这还让我想起一道机经：就是in its attempt to 和 in attempting to 那道
   那道题目我觉得应该也是in its attempt to ，因为涉及了太多对象，不能确定逻辑主语
   请牛人指点

supporting of不对，OF多余。
另外，in its supporting of也不如by supporting达意、合乎规范。

这里的once是修饰语，并非固定搭配。
所以主要是while从句与 where从句作状语的区别，前者一般引导时间状语从句，后者一边作为地点状语从句。

简单的说where引导的句子在这里为主句，若用while, 则两个句子都是从句，缺乏主句。

         i don't think " while once"    differs    greatly     from " where once"        in    its meaning

but choice A and D differs in the latter part(supporting)

我觉得这里没有什么差异的区别,反而更趋向于时间上的理解更合理呀.

完全同意dreadpower的观点，这里的while 和where 都是含有对比意思的连接副词，关键是by supporting 明显比in support of 等表达方式简洁。故而选择A

这题 i am not convinced,为什么in support of 不对啊？google了一下，有29,300,000 条。而且大多数都是n+in support of+n的用法。c 为什么不是正确答案？

a 里面的by supporting 的主语没有歧义吗？可以是members啊？

即使有歧义那样的补出方式也是不对的, OG里面有一个Without their being的例子, OG说明了their的多余, 如果为了清晰逻辑主语, 要么用主谓结构, 要么就用代词+名词.

Longman對後者的例句: They signed a petition in support of the pay claim. 很清楚地說明了 in support of 的用法。

本題從句意來看，A的意思是：『工會藉由支持對外國移民勞工課稅，表明了其對英語系成員的偏見持默許的態度，因而導致 brabrabra...』，C的意思則是：『工會藉由默許其英語系成員的偏見，來支持對外國移民勞工課稅』。顯然，A是較合理的選擇。

白勇的解释是：表示转折的连词有：where，while和whereas。它们的区别在于：where只能用在句首，whereas和while可以用在句首或句中。
