我感觉是因为explaining所修饰的部分不清晰,到底是讲Harvard anthropologist所发现的情况能够去explain还是Harvard anthropologist发现情况的这个事件本身能够去explain。

我觉得逻辑含义应该是后者吧,是不是use不能用with来替换啊?

句子的原意应该是前者,即Harvard anthropologist所发现的情况能够去explain,而不是发现这个动作本身explain了什么。不过因为explaining跟在整个句子后面,造成指代不清。cooking food with fire这个短语看我看来也是正确的讲法,所以错不在这个短语,而在explaining

XDF语法老师讲过动名词在GMAT中很少选,因为会有歧义(作为中国人我一直没感到,但觉得此理论还比较管用,而且在OG中也有过类似排除DOING的官方解释)而且Like在GMAT中不做举例使用,like像...为口语,
SO,相比B肯定不能选C

C:explaining做伴随状语,修饰主语A Harvard anthropologist,成了这个人类学家发出的行为了,错误。从逻辑意义上看,应该是用火煮食物这件事能够解释原始人有一定容量的大脑和小的牙齿。
