句首中 not one of the inverstors用单复数都可以，转到句尾：the deal应该用动词单数，所以排除ACE。但是答案是C，为什么？

C中:

这里的them应该是指句首的Not one of the potential investors ，所以应该用are对应呀，可是用了is，不符合主谓一致啊，为什么答案是C?

我这样理解，条件从句的主句使用了一般现在时，那么从句也应该使用现在时，既然每个选项都是过去时的话，那么就是虚拟语气了。不知道这样理解对不对
