Hi, I can not input Chinese now, sorry...
After a series of seminars in career center, I am curious about the Ph.D program in b-school, especially in this direction:
information technology management
After some reading and web search, I feel this field is not in the mainstream, there are few schools having exactly the so-called program, both the faculty and students are fewer than the other directions, like finance, business economics, accounting or operations.
Most of friends here are more familliar with b-school than me, is there anyone specified in this area? Or what is your opinion about this area?
Thanks!
My concern is, even I minored in economics and got admissions when I applied economics graduate program 2 years ago, my mojor is engineering, and I am in graduate school now, my economic or business knowledge is too general, I mean, these knowledge may help me become a econbiz journalist, but it is too aggressive for me to apply h.D in finance, business economics or accounting. There must be a huge transition for my current knowledge structure and depth. Moreover, if I understand correctly, information technology management is more focusing on strategy, operational behaviors and entreuprenurship ( forgive my poor spelling...). To be honest, I am not good at dealing with complicated mathematical models...
I do not know if my engineering background will be a little helpful both in application and study of this area.
Thanks again!
