答案C中prove用了主动，对马？

的省略，因为前句有WAS。

其他几项都好排除，最后剩下了A和D，唯一的不同就是prove / prove to be，查了字典，解释说 prove (to be) sth，这下怎么好？不知道ETS的所谓规则是什么？

我觉得prove not only inexpensive but reliable indicators.. 是指证明了某物（这个某物是incidators）

而prove to be both inexpensive and reliable indicators ...是指the procedures 证明了自己（procedures）是indicators.

我想prove sth. 和 prove to be sth.这两个逻辑意思是不同的。

嗯，同意juan的看法。

A prove to be……： A自己会证明自己是怎样怎样的。

A prove sth.(B)：A 证明了B.（B是something)。所以，A选项说的是 accounting procedure 证明了indicator，逻辑不通，不对。

还有一个结构 A prove + adj.：朗文和韦氏词典的解释不太一样:

朗文上说这样的结构中，prove作用就相当于 linking verb —be. If someone or something proves difficult, helpful, a problem etc, they are difficult, helpful, a problem etc. 例句：The recent revelations may prove embarrassing to the President.

韦氏上说 prove 是 intransitive senses : to turn out especially after trial or test 例：the new drug proved effective

not only...but (also)....省略also是可以的，OG中就有一道省略also的。

很有启发的，但是我又要钻牛角了，如果prove是相当于BE，那本身就含有to be的意思啦。比如原句，prove ...indicator，那不就是说procedure is indicator吗？

好胡涂的，我觉得可能实际运用中都可以，偏偏被ets这个老八股给限定了，prove不等于prove to be。

找的是最明显的错误

明白着两个结构

BOTH ... AND

NOT ONLY....BUT ALSO

有一个缺损, 当然选那个好的

PROVE TO BE=PROVE

没什么区别的.

不好意思，今天才看到你的问题。

我贴出的朗文和韦氏词典的解释都是有前提条件的，就是说只有在 A prove + adj. 这样的结构中，prove才可以讲为be。你问的那道题是 A prove + adj.+ n. 结构，尽管这个adj 比较长，又是not only 又是but also，但是都是为了修是最后那个名词indicator，其最后的落脚点是那个名词，不是adj.，这是就不能把prove理解成be。

不知道我说明白了没有。

没什么区别的.

如果 prove to be 和prove 后面的落脚点不是一个名词的话，他们俩是没什么区别。但是prove to be + n. 和 prove + n.的含义可完全不一样啊。
