第一段说说一个学者不同意投票权导致了女权的高涨（1920），one of the ironies of
American history of politics是女性获得选举权以后就没啥动静了；反而保守的politics
占了上风一段时间
第二段说it is true that 的确有一些变化，比如关于妇女和儿童的 topics被更多的加入
到政治的范围里来，比如the old veteran of the women movement搞了一些program
等等：这些来自于一些new research的 argue.（有题：问为啥提到new research，

第三段又转折, nonetheless, 总之妇女获得选举权的胜利以后，动静木有期盼的那么大。
最后一句说美国妇女得到选举权之所以会成功就是因为没有立即引起强烈的改变。这里出了考题
问题：
有一道题涉及作者态度，当时困扰我的是想了半天到底作者是啥态度，提醒大家如果考到
的话从一开始就注意思考作者的态度。我开始以为作者是支持认为妇女运动
的后期影响是大的，看到最后一段 nonetheless, 看来作者还是同意传统观点的，
文章开头的irony并不是反话。
尽管在第二段作者对suffrage movement积极影响作了肯定，但总来说，
作者认为suffrage movement影响不大，文中有个关健词是anticlimactic，
这明确地表达了作者的观点。
美国 18xx年抓了一艘船, 船是起义(revolted)的黑奴拥有的, 他们是原先被骗,
绑架并卖到古巴的. 对怎么处理奴隶在当时好象是个司法难题, 因为有的州好
象废除了奴隶, 但有的周仍保留了. 一个研究者Y的对此的研究虽然好但仍然
有问题.
开始讲了些司法的东西, 然后好象说当时的废除主义者(abolitionist)希望有好戏
了(文中用 dramatize 一词, 这里有一题, 似乎是问 abolitionist 的态度并希望
这件事造成什么影响, 我选了希望促使呼唤起大众关注奴隶的水深火热...not
sure...) ... 后来说, 法院还这些奴隶自由了. 研究者Y赞赏这个 "justice"
(原文就用了引号, 此处有一题, 问倒底为什么有引号 "justice", 我选了就是
反义啦, 说明研究者Y做得不够) 因为最高法院(maybe congress, can't remember)
虽然在此事上做对了, 但在当时奴隶制度在美国仍然存在并受支持
