标题: 有没有前辈可以介绍一下accounting PHD的学习生活~

现在正在读MASTER，因为是一年的PROGRAM，所以是工作还是继续申请要尽快决定了，想继续，因为想做PROFFESSOR~：P

只是听很多人说商学院的PHD很难读下来，尤其是经济学，想知道ACCOUNTING的PHD也一样吗?几年里面的大致学习生活是什么样的呢？

我感觉自己现在读的这个一年的MACC满紧张的，不知道PHD是不是更甚？相比较而言，有什么区别呢/

It is definately tougher than your MACC study. Actually it is very tough, especially in those top programs. But if you really research, you can get it through.

,本来以为比起经济学什么的，ACCOUNTING应该是比较具体的东西，应该不会太难的。。。

比起经济学PhD我个人觉得是简单了些
任何phd都是很tough的，不过如果你真的喜欢，无所谓了

感觉可能是这样的。商学院pro-level master 的课程的确挺忙的，很多projects and groups，但是这种忙碌跟phd一辈子搞的research还是很不同的。research很challenging，而且一下子很难出成果，需要耐心和毅力，得耐得住寂寞。唯有你真的喜欢这个东西，你才会投身去弄。对于PHD来说，前2年比较忙些，跟master差不多，得修挺多的课程；过了qualify后，就轻松很多了，稍微教课和做research好像就可以轻松过掉；但是如果你有些expectation的话，后几年也不会很轻松的，而是更加push自己－所以是否轻松还是关键看自己的投入。商学院phd物质上的回报也会比MBA少挺多的，即使它们相对于其他学科来说是已经是相当的多了。对于我来说，phd的research比master的coursework要tough许多。课程你还可以看得到回报，在研究方面的确有时是无可奈何，唯有不断的push自己。

compared to economics, accounting phd is less technical required, but it definitely requires good intuition about business world and good communication skills for teaching purpose.

my personal experience is that research is much tougher compared to courses in whatever fields. you need many things to lift up one good paper: good model background ( math is a basic skill for theoretical expertise), good quantitative methods including econometrics/computational programming (mostly in finance), data (if no data, fancy ideas will be trash), patience and hardwork...
