标题: NYU比Wharton和GSB@Chicago难申请？

跟一个nyc回来的朋友聊天，说后面两个学校对中国学生都很友好，而前面一个由于地域优势，比后面两个还难申请， admit rate低

有这么夸张么？

check out the acceptance percentage published by Business week.

NYU 22%

Columbia 17%

Chicago Not provided.

By the way, lowest Stanford: 10%

not possible. almost by all standard wharton is top 3 while nyu is almost not top 3 in all area (even in it's strong area - finance). one of my friend applied for comlumbia and nyu this year and was accepted by nyu. he was even not invited for interview by comlumbia and his no.1 choice is comlumbia.

但对于大陆申请者来说

NYU得难度还是很大

因为收得人实在太少

不像WHARTON一招40个得那么夸张

那如果是从香港申请呢？是不是NYU收的在美国工作的华人为主？

感觉上NYU比WHARTON难申请啊，后者对中国学生很友好，录取很多很多中国人的感觉

HK好像申请人的背景一直很强, 全是有名的IB和MC

论工作背景一般比大陆的录取要好不少

NYU 好像不是很关心你的extra activities，因为字符限制是600，不是单词限制。NYU也没有提供其他地方来体现extra activities。简历说是 Provide a current résumé including educational and professional information.如果想体现你的那个方向，大家有什么建议没？

I found the trick in this. NYU admits twice as many part-time as full-time each year. Maybe that is why the overall rate for International applicants is much lower than it shows on the business week. BTW, NYU-Langone part-time program is the best in US. A lot of top 100 professional choose this program rather than full-time.

后半句没有被哥大面的原因可能很多

wharton招的人多，不过申请的人更加多多多。。。把，不认为NYU比wharton好申请。

这问题就好像在问：当奥运会第三名容易，还是当第七名容易。确实两者在难度上有差异，但是第七名也不是那么容易当的！与其花时间比较两者难易，不如做好自己的申请材料。

事实上， BW的统计是不准确的。或许是因为那是学校自己报的数据。

根据国际申友们去年自己的统计，各校的acceptance大致为：

NYU, Chicago： 40%

Wharton, Columbia: 20%

Stanford: 7%

应该是full, part time 算在一起的。

Personally I think part time MBA programs are less helpful than full time ones, as THE most important assets you get from b-school is your network, and part time MBA programs allow only limited interaction among students.

这个有点NONESENSE.

这个问题讨论的价值仅限对中国人而言。也就是说我们讨论的是对中国人而言哪个更难申请，而不是对所有人。对所有申请者来说基本上是排名越好越难申请。但是像NYU这样的虽然算不上世界顶级，但绝对是区域强权的学校，而且占尽地利人和，自己觉得牛得很，对海外的学生（比如说中国人)从来不感冒。因此二者的申请难度对准备拿F1签证的中国人来说应该难度差距不太。过去NYC和LA几乎成了所有中国人的落脚点，转行和再申请的人比比皆是，以前NYU的中国人大多是在美国申请的。NYU的申请难度即便不能超过沃顿，差距也绝不像第三名和第七名那样明显。
