pretty close. in my opinion. 破折号以后是 ideas inserted as an afterthought. 更象插入语

“——”起解释说明的作用，相当于定语从句。一般来讲，不定式放在逗号后的用法是不对的，除非两逗号间加的是同位语从句，那么不定式可以和主句联系起来。
