个人觉得这道题考察的是对句子逻辑关系的理解。
B/C/D/E都在一定程度上，曲解了原句的意思。
题干主体有两个句子：
1.Clovis points, ……， have been round all over north America
2.they are named for the new Mexico site where whey were first discovered in 1932
这两个句子有转折的意思，主干是Clovis points因为第一次在the new Mexico site被发现，并以此命名。虽然Clovis points被发现在北美到处都是。

C. 没有表达出转折意思。"have been discovered ... in 1932"时态错了。
D. "Even though ... but..." is wrong. Also sounds very awkward

我觉得楼上的NN说的都对，的确BCDE都存在很大的问题，但是我想请问的是，难道就没有人对于A中的THEY指代提出疑问吗？
如果你说后两个they指代的是clovis points，也就算了，代词优先指代主句主语，但是第一个在插入语中的their，我实在是觉得它存在的指代不清的嫌疑，难道我想错了吗？

应 该用主从句 不能颠倒 比如原意是even though Clovis points blabla , named New Mexico 在后，
而不是even though named New Mexico。。。 ，Clovis points blabla ..的
还有就是看到 in 1932 判断是用过去时 而不是用完成时。。
不知道有没看懂，表达的不是很清楚 请原谅，

同位语相对于句子主干只属于附属结构，插入语中的代词可以指代句子主干中的对象，而主体句子中的代词应不该指代插入语中的名词，因此they也就只能指代Clovis points，而their指代Clovis points或spear points应该没有区别吧，他们是一个东西。
我个人这么理解，不知道对否。

og上原题~答案是A 首先考虑时态，因为是1932年，所以应该用一般过去时，排除C,B的话where first discovered 不对，应该用where they were first discovered~

OG13 里这个是96题，我选了C, 唉
查有道词典SPEAR POINTS, 赫然出现的例句就是C，所以十分困惑。GOOGLE第一个就出来了CD的讨论，终于明白了。多谢各位！

1. B选项中， Although named for the New Mexico site where first discovered in 1932, 是不是有问题？Although 后面不是要加一个完整的句子嘛。
2. C选项除了时态问题，Clovis points 后面两个句子是不是都是修饰Clovis points的？如果是的话，是不是修饰不明？
3. D选项中that 跟在grooves是不是有歧义，因为就近修饰？

Verb form; Rhetorical construction; Logical predication Even though, although, and while introduce clauses that appear to be logically incompatible but in fact are not. In this sentence, the apparent incompatibility that must be clearly expressed is that although the spear points are named for a particular place in New Mexico, they are in fact found throughout North America. Because their discovery took place in 1932 and is not ongoing, the correct verb tense is simple past, not present perfect
A Correct. The even though clause expresses clearly that the seeming incompatibility is between where the spear points have been found (all over North America) and the naming of the spear points for a single site in New Mexico.
B The sentence structure indicates that the expected incompatibility is between the geographically based name of the points and their physical properties, which makes no sense; where discovered is missing a subject—the correct form is where they were first discovered.
C Have been first discovered is the wrong tense, since the discovery is a discrete event completed in the past.
D The sequence of information in this sentence is confusing; even though and but both introduce information that is contrary to expectation, so to use them both to describe a single apparent contradiction is redundant and nonsensical.
E While introduces a description of Clovis points and suggests that this appears incompatible with their appearance all over North America, which makes no sense; have been first discovered is the wrong tense.
