不知道LZ问allow that的用法的意思，allow that就是这样用呀。

so that与so做连词表达的意思是一样的。

建议LZ自己准备一本longman字典和语法书。

我认为答案应该是E

查过字典後

allow that翻译为承认

A allow B to do sth翻译成A允许B做某事

做如此翻译後D选项变成乌龟「承认」自己的露在龟壳外的身体部位缩进来，这样句意不是很怪吗？
