答案是(C) OG上写着: The use of the active voice in the verbs of the subordinate clauses provides greater clarity of meaning. 主动就一定比被动好吗? 我怎么觉得(E)更好些 "crests and troughs that remain stationary "我觉得不如"stationary crests and troughs "好而且"the air that forms them is moving rapidly"总感觉有些不顺.

GMAT中,能用主动的,一般都是主动语态而不用被动语态, 被动语态在gmat中被视为awkward, wordy的.这是preference的问题.

但,并不是所有的被动语态都是错的,要具体问题具体分析.

那难道"stationary crests and troughs "不被ETS prefer吗?

"crests and troughs that remain stationary "我觉得就是不如"stationary crests and troughs "好.

难道说有stationary是修饰crests 还是crests and troughs 整体的歧义?

英语毕竟不是我们的母语,我们觉得不顺的未必就真的是不顺

E的主要错误不是stationary crest and troughs而是画线部分前面有个with,因此整个部分是个介词短语,不能有although...这样的让步状语从句出现的

同意4楼的, E中,with后面怎么可能接一个although从句呢? 语法已经很有问题了.although是属于that从句的, 而这个that的定语从句是修饰crests and troughs的.

另外,我想说说的是关于remain;remain这词省略的话,也改变了句子意思的,remain是表示一种持续的状态的,longman的解释是to continue to be in the same state or condition.

好像例子,可能不太确切,但只是说明区别: a beautiful girl,一个漂亮的女孩/ 而a girl that remains beautiful,一个仍然保持漂亮的女孩.

后者是表示一种状态,表示那女孩依然这么漂亮; 而前者就简单说这个女孩是漂亮的意思.

所以省略remain,也是会带来意思的转变的.不能简单说"crests and troughs that remain stationary "我觉得就是不如"stationary crests and troughs "好." 这样凭感觉做题是很错的,要具体了解到到底为什么错,为什么对,不要老抱住自己有理的想法;要知道,除了一些语法的硬错误, GMAT的SC是有自己的规则和偏向性,而我们就是要了解这个考试的规则和偏向性,这样才能掌握好SC,否则考试会错得很惨得; 参加这个考试,就应该按照考试得规则去考.
