Yes, I think this one is critical. OG has several examples showed you that "as...as..." is for positive, and "not so...as..." is for negative. I remember in OG, it does not accept the use of "as...as..." for negative.

I choose D in the first, but thank you remind this important rule.

As for some who think A is not so parrellel, well it is quite parrelle, isn't it?

D选项看似工整，但是as...as（先不管否定句当中最好使用not so...as...的结构）是在比较中使用的结构，D选项的比较对象至少是不可比的granitic soil is系表结构和不定式之间的比较to make burrowing，如果此题出现在比较题目当中的话，我想应该大部分人不会选择D选项了吧。

as...as后应加比较性名词之类的，不可以加个动词不定式啊

哎又看了一个百年老帖结果还是没讨论出个结果

A选项中so that 后面加情态动词不是会由原来的表结果变为表目的么？那么逻辑意思就不对了吧？
而且A选项中翻译过来也有问题吧这种材料并不是很硬以至于会使挖掘变的很困难。。。这说的通么？？

E选项是不是错在not应该和or搭配呢？然后nor是和neither搭配？
