Q14:
Whereas lines of competition are clearly defined in the more established industries, in the Internet industry they are blurred and indistinct, as companies that compete one day may be partners the next.
Although the lines of competition are clearly defined
in industries that are more established, they
are
blurred and indistinct
in the Internet industry, as competing companies
Whereas lines of competition are clearly defined in the more established industries, in the Internet industry they are blurred and indistinct, as companies (that compete) one day may be partners the next.
A is better
companies that compete one day maybe the parteners the next.is a very clear structre .
In choice B "the" is unnessary and "they" has some more ambiguous word to refer cause of the word--"the",
and
"industries that are more established" is much wordy and reductant.
open to disscuss
B中industries that are more established解释了A中the more established industries出现的歧义。A的more可能修饰established也可能修饰industries。看到这道题不知道大家有没有想到另外一道相似的GWD题:cars that are more efficient than those present at road.
A中的companies that compete会产生问题。
competing companies one day 对应 partners the next(day).

disagree with the argument. A is better.
compete as vi is totally valid usage. check out in dictionary.
look "the more established industries", with the "the", there is no ambiguity that found in "are more efficient than those present at road.". becz, if "more" is meant to descibe "industry", it should say more established industry w/o the. the + more is not proper usage to describe "industry".
