since的位置和意义的疑惑。（885-section 12-11，补充250题之104）

since是个时态判断的关键词，通过它可以判断是否用完成时态。但它不仅仅表示“自从”之意，还有“因为”的意思。
而且它出现的位置也变化多端，经常使人琢磨不定。

请教各位是怎么在现场判断since的含义的。

section 12
11. Founded in 1983, the magazine increased its circulation more than double since then, and its advertising.
(A) increased its circulation more than double since then,
(B) has since increased its circulation more than double,
(C) has since more than doubled its circulation
(D) since then more than doubled its circulation
(E) more than doubled its circulation since then

answer: C

此题的since跑到了has之后，我一开始根本不敢选，这种用法对吗？

补充250题之104

For some birds the sense of smell appears to play a role in navigation, since pigeons with surgically removed olfactory nerves were found to have increased difficulties in homing.
(A) were found to have increased difficulties
(B) have been found to have increased difficulty
(C) were found to have increasing difficulty
(D) had been found to have increased difficulties

answer: B

另外建议大家把字体调大点, CD好是好,就是字体太小,费眼睛.

section 12中的since 是副词不是连词。
补充250题之104全句均用的现在时所以肯定在B和 D中选，D 是increasing 表示一个ongoing condition也就是持续了一段时间，而句中用表结果的increaseda较好。这里主要是比较increasing 和increased的区别不是since。即使是since，那也是逐句用不用完成时的问题，和从句无关。

12 注意到后面有and its advertising，所以前面应该也要找个平行的，C合适

是个简单句,??? 中间加个since 迷惑人吧，

还是 has doubled 现在完成时。那more than 又如何讲呢。？？？

做这个意思用的时候，需要用完成时态。

E错在哪里？
C中的谓语是has doubled的话，那么since more than放在前面是怎么回事呢？把has和doubled分开了，是修饰doubled的吗？
感觉好奇怪啊～
