很迷惑，请高手解释一下，多谢！

我选E, 首先allow 的主语是design 所以用allows, C 不对排除，D 的用法很怪,

不知道E 错在哪儿了？

首先，allow sb to do与allow that的意思不同

allow sb to do:can do sth/make sth possible

allow that: FORMAL to admit that something is true

其次，最好不要改变原句的句式以免改变意思或重心.

您都說allow that是"承認"的意思,本題若為the design承認烏龜可以做某件事不是相當詭異嗎?

我的感觉是so和so that的区别，看og关于so that的用法，大部分是表示一种目的，而so是一种表示结果的用法，感觉很微妙，但是二者还是有区别。从这道题目的内容看，应该是用so，而不是that。

乌龟把手脚缩在壳里，目的是为了避免被攻击（so that）

乌龟把手脚缩在壳里，这样别人就不能攻击它（so）

其實allow that確實是"承認"的意思,放在這邊真的很難解釋得通,至少我手中的Longman字典及奇摩線上字典告訴我這件事...

此套题答案错误蛮多的，兄弟门千万别因为这个非标准答案而改变自己对很多真理的认识。

这个答案不是GMATPREP.

应该是E吧，ALLOW TO是允许的意思，ALLOW THAT是承认的意思，SO THAT可以作AND SO的意思讲
