b，c 中黄色部分是否都是修饰不清楚？？？ 特别是down from a decade ago,  可以修饰state， 也可以修饰when 从句。
it 则是指代不明确的

B、C两个答案都是错的，介词短语down from a decade ago不能处于两重句之间，也不能处于完整的句子和重句之间，ambiguous。

B答案的it确实有指代不明确的问题，而且读起来显得非常拗口，呵呵，awkward

C答案最重要的错误，就是and that amounts to a little less than half the population of the state导致and前的那个句子没有谓语了，比介词短语down from a decade ago的ambiguous错得更严重。

好像不是的,谓语还是有的,就是不能平行而已

C的they也不对,逻辑不对

the emphasis on the solution to this problem is "which amounts" or " amounting"...the given two expressions do have difference.

"Which" refers umbiguously,while amounting is pretty consice and clear.

这是典型的"前面一段话对后面的影响"题型which amounts to a little less than half the population of the state从句是错误答案的标志,偶刚复习完这个.应该用分词,答案是D吧

刚才没仔细看,补充一点E中的it前面有太多的单数名词,会有指代歧义,应该是D
