1. Bihar is India’s poorest state, with an annual per capita income of $111, lower than in the most impoverished countries of the world.

(A) lower than in

(B) lower than that of

(D) which is lower than in（B）

(E) which is lower than it is in

the key is B.

Q1: 若句子簡化成:

The income of $110 in country A is lower than that in country B.

此句有無錯誤?

(根據前NN們的說法, that 只指代中心詞,即income, 而不是the income of $110)

Q2: 若沒有的話,可否把that省略,變成:

The income of $110 in country A is lower than in country B.

Q3: that of the other countries 與 that in other countries 有何不同嗎?

對此類問題困惑多時, 盼高人指教....言謝先....

以下是小弟的想法請參考:

Q1, 文法是沒有錯的,但是句意怪異, 原句應是The income of $110 in country A is lower than that of $110 is in country B.

但因為of $ 110之前已經出現過了, 為了簡潔而省略

Q2.如果句子變成The income of $110 in country A is lower than in country B.這樣, 則會不知道the imcome of $110要和誰比較吧?

Q3. 此題原提應為Bihar is India's poorest state, with an annual per capita income of $111, which is lower than that of the most impoverished countries of the world
is low.

其中, 兩塊黃色部分互相比較

還請參考並指教

照Q1的说法，that指代income 原句可以写成The income of $110 in country A is lower than the
income of $110 is in country B.

那是不是划线的都可以省了呢。。。不懂请指教

這是小弟的淺薄之見, 請參考,

照上ㄧ句來說,

第一個the income是county A的, 而第二個the income是county B的, 兩個是不同的income,

所以第二個county B的income是新的訊息, 之前沒有出現過的, 不可省, 故用that代

如有錯誤,請不吝指教喔!

选项中that 指代the income
it 指代the income of $111
