(E) Young female ballet dancers and gymnasts sometimes fail to maintain good eating habits because they desire to be as thin as possible.

正确答案是D，
我想问为什么E不对，其和D比较而言，初了主从句前后顺序有别之外，我看不出有什么不对的地方

14. In 1990’s, there are more babies born by women over thirty years old than under it.

(A) than under it

(B) than were they under it

(D) than were the babies（A）

(E) than those were under it

怎么我觉得此题没有正确答案

答案给的是A。我的疑问是若是A，那么在predicated 后面必须有宾语引导词that,而答案A里并没有。。。。请指教。。。thanx

E is wrong b/c desire to be is wrongly used here.

14.) A should be correct.

14. In 1990’s, there are more babies born by women over thirty years old than( by women) under it.

8). I feel you pain,...agree with you. A "that" is missing. Maybe B is right if the word "undermining" can be used as a proper noun.

Next time please type one question at a time for the benifit of future students.

谢谢MBZ，但是在第一道题里的答案D中，不是一样有desire to be 吗？该怎么理解你的解释？ (D) Because they desire to be as thin as possible

Sorry I think I made a mistake. When I read choice D, I made the right choice, but then when I got to E, I saw it as passive, (disire to be + done).

Actually, I don't see any difference between the two sentences except for the order they are are displayed.

disire to be + adj (correct)

disire to be + past perfect tense (wrong)
