标题: 请教一道考平行结构的语法题

in the fall of 1985,only 10 percent of women entering college planned to major in education, while 28 percent chose business,making it the most popular major for women as well as for men

A as well as for men

B as well as the men

C and men too

D and men as well

E and also men

这道题是刘振民那本书里面平行结构这一节的练习题。答案选的A，我理解的是如果选A，则这句话说女生中有百分之28选了商这件事请使得商科成为女生中最热门的学科，也成为男生中最流行的学科。这显然是不合逻辑的阿，疑惑中。。。

请高手指教！3X a lot

是不是可以这样解释：

女生28％这样选择，使business成为女生中最热门的专业（而在女声这样选择之前，business已经是男生中最热门的专业，跟女生这样选择无关）

问题是我觉得这个句子这样写就是说明有关。。。

making it the most popular major for women as well as for men作状语，修饰的是前面说的那个事实，也就是说前面的事实造成了两个结果，for women as well as for men
