正确答案是B，我选E

其实做题的时候就两个犹豫不决

这种指代到底是否补动词是我的弱项

请问向这一题应该如何区别阿？

我的思路是：

the reasons....were..as they were

觉得因为时态的关系，都是过去式，补出来比较清楚

请问我错在哪个环节?

是否可以这样看：能够比较的可以有两点1)reasons ... VS reasons 2）reasons were... VS reasons were 但是AE 中的that , they 没有指代对象（those , what 这样的代词就不存在这样的问题） C中was 应该为were

Here is my idea why i did not choose A in the beginning. In GMAT, most of time "that" has to directly refer to the nouns in front of it. However, there is no noun in front of "that" and thus "that" here will not refer to "reasons."

Sure, there are examples such as "reasons of.... and that of..." in OG, but the "that" is close enough and parrellel enough and will never follow the first idea after so many words.

题目比较的是两个 reason 的内容，因此不用补出谓语

此外，they 指代的是上面出现过的“同一个reason”，逻辑上变成同一个reason的内容在比较，不妥。这种指代的逻辑错误跟大全168 的一样。

因此应该用 those 指代前面的 reasons 这个名词
