Researchers have announced that the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system, of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, can interfere with pacemakers and that this interaction can bring on missed or irregular heartbeats, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, and even fainting.

  1. of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, can interfere with pacemakers and that
  2. of which, worldwide, there are 200,000 of that type, and which can interfere with pacemakers, and
  3. of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, they can interfere with pacemakers and
  4. 200,000 of which type exist worldwide, interfering with pacemakers, and
  5. 200,000 of that type existing worldwide and can interfere with pacemakers, and

answer is D

My answer is A, free for discussion.

我也觉得D比较好 不能of that 只能 of which所以E可以排除

A中and that阐述并列,就很好。

其次,D中interfering with pacemakers做什么?

200000 type of which exist worldwide,A读起来挺奇怪。 这里没有对称我认为是合理的,因为根据逻辑意思,and this interaction can bring on ....

I support A.

D is absolutely wrong. “the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system interfering with pacemakers” –

同意A.

only part from nature.com, seems A has better chance:

agree with A.

remember i read from some note of one NN, he said "that....., and that...." is a preferable form of GMAT, compare with other choices don't have strong correct point. i think the answer should be A.

A 出现了数量词,使用of which there are搭配顺序不合理

B worldwide

A

Researchers have announced that
the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system, of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, can interfere with pacemakers and that this interaction
can bring on missed or irregular heartbeats, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, and even fainting.

但A中的of which n. there are确实是个很awkward的结构,但却也只有A是对的。 但我认为,GWD的每一个语法题实际上是有隐含提问的,那就是:which of the following awkward sentence is correct?

  1. of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, can interfere with pacemakers and that (这个that是与前面announce that平行的,但是that后面的this interaction.... The teacher announces that <I am a student> and annouces that <this identity qualifies me>...和the teacher announces that <I am a student and this identity>...
  2. of which, worldwide, there are 200,000 of that type, and which can interfere with pacemakers, and (too much and..redundency)
  3. of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, they can interfere with pacemakers and ( they,错)
  4. 200,000 of which type exist worldwide, interfering with pacemakers, and (exist是句子谓语动词,interfering修饰200,000 of which type, correct)
  5. 200,000 of that type existing worldwide and can interfere with pacemakers, and (没有谓语动词,错)
