166. The prime lending rate is a key rate in the economy: not only are the interest
rates on most loans to small and medium-sized businesses tied to the prime, but also
on a growing number of consumer loans, including home equity loans.

这道题根据平行是很容易选对的，但是我不明白的是b中的tied to the prime are the
interest rates部分，这个是倒装吗？正常的语序是the interest rates are tired to the
prime,是这样的吗？如果是这样的话为什么是tied...这部分提前，are 为什么放后面了？
或者这个不是倒装而是主语省略了，全部应该是waht are tired to the prime are....
请指教

gemj is right.
this type of inversion begins with -ed verb. 例如： Located between A and B is C. Located 引导，到装部分是 is C (谓语+主语) 。（普通用法是主语+谓语）

这题之所以倒装是因为主语the interest rates 的修饰结构not only on most loans to small and
medium-sized businesses, but also on。。。太长，如果用正常语序，主谓之间间隔太远，表达不清晰。是这样吗？

不是NN,共同探讨：

如果C、E加上on也不合适。

c:从句子结构看，not only...but also...作为连词连接两个并列的内容作主语the interest rates的定语，谓语是are tied to，宾语是 the prime.如果把主语的定语中的一部分成分but also放在主谓宾之后，不知道它起什么作用。也没有见过这种无缘无故将主语的定语拆开，放在整个句子的后面的情况。

E是将主语the interest rates的定语成分放在整个句子的后面，太远了。反而离宾语prime比较近，容易被误解为修饰prime.

应该也不行，因为NOT ONLY 。。BUT ALSO后面的内容需要完全对称，出题者之所以要让此题倒装就是考虑到NOT ONLY ON。。。和BUT ALSO ON。。后面的内容是要共同修饰THE INTEREST RATE的，所以才让THE INTEREST RATE 放到后面被修饰，也不容易引起歧义。

E是将主语the interest rates的定语成分放在整个句子的后面，太远了。反而离宾语prime比较近，容易被误解为修饰prime.

进一步补充为什么， interest rates on中的on要尽量不和interest rates拆开。因为根据字典上说法，interest rates on loans是行业英语的固定说法，意思是“放款利率”，如果拆开就失去了它特有的意思了。
