1)通过responding,很容易排除a,b

2)be to do表将来,will也表将来,c中的will be to collide太awardward了吧?

3)原句用may,根据xdf原则,原句出现的情态动词不能轻易改变,所以我选择e

4)当然e也不事没有毛病,likelihood of a particular asteroid or comet 不合适,应该是彗星撞地球的可能性,而不是小行星＆彗星的可能性.

5)还有,e中likelihood是可能性,may也是可能性,是不是重复?redundant?

但总体衡量一下c中有严重错误will be to do还是选择e

c直接说how likely a particular asteroid or comet will collid with earth就好了啊.

怀疑是不是xdf背题的时候记错了c的选项?

E选项的may和likelihood绝对重复了，原文上没有用may啊。

c选项的结构是be likely to do……，用how问likely的程度，怎么错了呢？

E不对吧～LIKELIHOOD后面是OF哎~,是COLLISION的可能性啊,E变成a particular asteroid or comet的可能性了,应该用THAT,C和D我分不清楚哎

我选了C,但是我的答案给的D

will be to的用法不是很清楚对不对

但是表示目的用to do比for doing好,并且how likely比the likehood that简洁

所以我觉得c比d 好一点

最优解释。likely 和likelihood看起来只是词性之差，用法实则微妙。
