标题: [求助]ob & hr PHD

Very nice place, I like it.

And Maybe someone also interested in OB &HR PHD or who has already got offer can give me some advice, very appreciate it and thanks in advance.

In popular way, I would like to introduce myself here:

1.Will finish MBA program in HK at the end of this year.

2. Three years HR manager working experience in a not famous American company in Main land China

3. GMAT: 760, TOEFL: 263; GPA: 3.8/4.0;

4. No research paper

Inquiry: what kind of school in the US or Canada I should apply?  Is Cornell or Kelley too fancy for me?

Plan to finish the heavy application work load before exchange,

And do exchange program help in my application? say to Europe?

Why do you want to do a Ph.D. right after your MBA?

haha, good question,to make it short,during my MBA study,I find I have potential and interest toward research, for example,I can always come up with unique ideas and eager to share and discuss with other people,such as my classmates,professors and even my neighbors who are students from other majors,I like writing paper and enjoy the research job in the process, and I find pleasure of teaching as well and I hold turtorial sessions just before every exams for Chinese students,and some Hong Kong local on their requests, that's it, beside,good GMAT and GPA, maybe, I want to utilize them again,don't want to waste,

If I were you, I will look at some OB articles (such as in JAP, AMJ), and see whether research or teaching career is really the expected routine. hD program usually takes boring 4-5 years, and is quite different from MBA program you are studying.

GMAT is good but usually means nothing considering your competitors with the similar scores. If you do not want to waste your scores, you might be going to waste your whole career. Just 2 cents.
