我认为是D，因为also后面的内容与主句明显不是递进或并列，而应该是转折。而且这里不应该用not only... but also的句型，大家都怎么看？讨论一下吧

it指代什么呢？clearing还是farmland，还是furniture？

B is the best choice

not only... but also is the key to this question

根据句子的转折意思（前面说好事，后面说坏事），D比较好，but it also单独使用，but转折词，also副词，跟not only无关。

B成了递进意思，不合逻辑，而且which修饰farmland，farmland gave houses and furnitures不合逻辑，应该是the systematic clearing of forests这个project能gave houses and furnitures.

这题D好。。。。从逻辑上来看先从好处，但是也有坏处。。。

B好,因为它符合逻辑,是farmland给了农民 relatively inexpensive houses and furniture而不可能是一个clearing of forests .同时B又是完美的not only but also,而且时态对应. not only那里的did是一个倒装而引起的
