我支持A。觉得C割断了原文有的逻辑关系，变成前后两个事情是孤立的，没有表达出句子原本想表达的意思。
如果A的them指代可能不清楚，C的they也存在这样的问题，而且将原文的to do目的变成for doing,大全OG上没有看到过这样改正确了的，for sth才表示目的，还请牛牛指导。

而A和B中的them 指代不清也是correctiveness的错误,也不能按中文理解说them一定要指代什么.

支持，虽然OG中强调宾语从句中的“that"不可省，但好像在GWD中宾语从语的That在不划线的地方有省掉过的，具体例子找不到了，但肯定其存在。偶选的A，但看了讨论后屈服了，还是觉得C比较好，理由如下：
1、A中的硬伤是hope+will，意思不对，句式也不对
2、A还有个软肋，就是them的指代不清。
3、C其实只是better，不是best，因为C也有些问题，for表示目的不如不定式好，还有就是前后句子关系不明显。但无致命错误，故为答案。
此題我選 E，句意最清楚，結構最平穩，不過至今的討論似乎沒人考慮。
其他選項錯誤的理由如下:

C 从语法上是完全可以接受的，to do 和 for doing 在这里不构成对与错的差别。但 C 将两个分句的逻辑联系完全割裂，完全改变句意，这是不能被接受的。而且这也是 ETS 偏向的一种考法——逻辑为王。
最后， C 还有一个比较令人费解的表达 will be able to，很怀疑这种表达的正确性。will 与 be able to 有重复之嫌。
