The Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) spacecraft will orbit the asteroid Eros for a year, slowly moving closer to the surface of the object to make ever more precise measurements that scientists hope will enable them to understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.
A不好
解释如下:slowly moving closer to the surface of the object to make ever more precise measurements that scientists hope will enable them to
understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.
1.that从句的结构:【that scientists hope will enable them to understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.】
(c). hope will enable说不通,直接就scientists hope to understand 。。。即可
2.that从句的结构::【that scientists hope 】will enable them to understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.即主语是measurements;是科学家hope的measurements,但是后面的will显得莫名,应该是to enable them to。。。。。。。。

关于这点,C中也是hope will 的用法;

slowly moving closer to the surface of the object to make ever more precise measurements that scientists hope that(这里的that要不要加呢)will enable them to
understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.
本句的正常语序应该是 scientists hope that the measurements will enable them to ...
我支持A。
A should be the correct answer,
C is an obvious run-on.
hope //will be able to在A中和在C中是不一样的,在C中hope 是引导宾语从句,所以从句的主谓宾是将来时态,没有问题.
I saw it wrong, C is not a run-on. but the logical meaning is not good.
A is still the choice.
因为定语从句中的measurements充当的是宾语从句里的成分(scientists hope measurements will enable them to )在我做过的SC中这种形式都是错的 我搞不懂的是B为什么错
A should be the correct answer,
C is an obvious run-on.

A中,them 指的是 measurements,measurements 怎麼會接動詞 understand 呢?
C中,表達目的之意,要用不定詞 to make,非用for。
18. GWD27-Q18:
The Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) spacecraft will orbit the asteroid Eros for a year, slowly moving closer to the surface of the object to make ever more precise measurements that scientists hope will enable them to understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.
A:
C: for making ever more precise measurements, and scientists hope that they will be able to
选了A; 我觉得ope和will没有关系,that scts hope 是mments的修饰语; 实际上整个的句子是measurements will enable them to...
C无法表达正确的意思,因为是measurements enable scts to bla bla, 而不是他们自己able to do sth
nn 来
部分同意小狗的意见,但偶不同意hope和will没有关系,如果that scts hope 是mments的修饰语,那这句定从还原了就是scientist hope the measurements,这不通。 所以that scientists hope will enable them to一定是合在一齐修饰measurements的。
to make ever more precise measurements that scientists hope will enable them to
to make ever more precise measurements that (scientists hope) will enable them to
The electronics company has unveiled what it claims to be the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, and it weighs less than 11 ounces.
A. to be the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, and it weighs
B. to be the smallest network digital camcorder in the world, which is as long as a handheld computer, weighing
C. is the smallest network digital camcorder in the world, which is as long as a handheld computer, and it weighs
D. is the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, which is as long as a handheld computer and weighs
E. is the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, weighing
d
prep答案
The electronics company has unveiled what (it claims) is the world’s smallest network
to make ever more precise measurements that (scientists hope) will enable them to

E. is the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, weighing
d

The electronics company has unveiled what (it claims) is the world’s smallest network
同意A.
C似乎改变原句的意思了,and scientists hope that they will be able to…与spacecraft will orbit…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2)句子结构上,A没有问题,that scientists hope will enable them to在这里是measurement的定语从句,that代替measurement做will enable them…… (scientists hope 为主句,will enable them to……
to make ever more precise measurements that (scientists hope) will enable them to
The electronics company has unveiled what it claims to be the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, and it weighs less than 11 ounces.
A. to be the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, and it weighs

E. is the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, the length of which is that of a handheld computer, weighing

The electronics company has unveiled what (it claims) is the world’s smallest network
This example is different since it does not have the same problem of "they" illogical reference, if "scientists hope" is a 插入语, then we could easily take it out and try again and it should work 2, right?
The Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) spacecraft will orbit the asteroid Eros for a year, slowly moving closer to the surface of the object to make ever more precise measurements that will enable them to understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.
Then I guess everyone agree "they" has no refernce, right? So vote for C.
I saw it wrong, C is not a run-on. but the logical meaning is not good.
A is still the choice.
yes I agree
A is better on the logical meaning point
所以A对!!
Thanks
up
Warning that computers in the United States are not secure, the National Academy of Sciences has urged the nation to revamp computer security procedures, institute new emergency response teams, creating a special nongovernment organization to take charge of computer security planning.
D) and create a special nongovernment organization for taking
E) and create a special nongovenment organization to take
D In the construction create...to take, the sense of to is in order to; for taking is not idiomatically correct.
其实应该是 that will enable them
还是觉得C中用 be able to do 比较合适。
The Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) spacecraft will orbit the asteroid Eros for a year, slowly moving closer to the surface of the object to make ever more precise measurements that scientists hope will enable them to understand how the solar system formed some four billion years ago.
c (主句1)spacecraft will orbit AE, (状语)moving closer to the surface for making...measurements, and (主句2)scientists hope that they will be able to
I do that for you.
I go there to meet my friend.
So that后跟从句
them 指代不清, 逻辑不对 measurements will enable them还是scientists will enable them
enable sb to do something
with the purpose of 罗嗦
In order to 罗嗦
and which
应该选 A
will 与 be able to 有重复之嫌。
支持A
