应 biandy 之问，‘OF’能不能省的问题要看具体情况而定，有时不能省，有时不能要，有时可省可留。
此题中就绝对不能有‘OF’。加了‘OF’，句意发生了改变，表示‘LAWYER’他‘SUSPECTED’了两回，先SUSPECT警方illegally taped her confidential conversations with her client ，然后又SUSPECT警方used the information obtained to find evidence supporting their murder charges。
正确的理解是他一次性SUSPECT警方两件事：illegally taped her confidential conversations with her client and then used the information obtained to find evidence supporting their murder charges. 这里用‘THEN’连接两件事，显得自然、流畅并简洁。C选项从纯语法的角度讲也是可以的，但不够简洁。简洁是GMAT语法改错里的一项原则，能用三言两语说清楚的事，绝不用四言五语。感觉D选项的逻辑也有一些问题，如果按D的说法，这个句子的意思应该“这个律师怀疑警察非法录音，然后又怀疑他们用得到的信息找证据。”而从逻辑上讲律师怀疑的问题应该是一个整体的，因此，我觉得A选项更好一些。

以上是我搜索出来的内容，我个人觉得A选项对，但新东方的蓝皮书给出的答案是D。请各位发表高见。

LZ你忽略了一个对称平行原则，这个原则在GMAT语法中几乎可以说是王道。

D,表示先怀疑..，然后进一步怀疑...。而且警察的动作有先后顺序，D表达了这个时态差别。

3楼的说的好像是真理！有时候发现GMAT确实没什么道理可讲，只能按套路来。

平行是有道理了，为了工整美观

不觉得中文也推崇排比这个修饰手法么？

这道题目主要想表达的是时间的顺序差异先tape confidential conversation 所以用完成时然后obtained information 所以是一般时
很操蛋的一道题目有木有！
