A survey of entrepreneurs who started companies last year shows that while virtually all did substantial preparatory research and planning, only half used that work to produce a formal business plan. The argument is:
A, with a plan -> funding in x amount of time
B, without a plan -> funding in x/2 amount of time
conclusion => plans don't help

C explains that there is another reason B secured funding in less time, therefore weakening the argument.
D supports the argument, by implying that as long as the entrepreneurs do the research and planning, a plan is not needed.
