E我想破头也想不出为啥与“partly because crossbreeding is said to provide hybrid vigor”平行，就因为以“partly”开头吗？

不过我对 partly to acquire certain characteristics in their steers 这句话的意思还是不理解。 怎么能从steers的身上获得特定的特性呢？ 阉牛是没有生育能力的呀？ steer： 1 : a male bovine animal castrated before sexual maturity compare STAG 3 2 : an ox less than four years old
