Q20:
Researchers have announced that the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system, of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, can interfere with pacemakers and that this interaction can bring on missed or irregular heartbeats, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, and even fainting.
奇怪? the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system, 200,000 of which type exist worldwide, interfering with pacemakers.
我支持A.
D不对. the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system, 200,000 of which type exist worldwide, interfering with pacemakers
A: announced that X can interfere, and that Y can bring on - 句型工整对称. of which type there are 200,000 worldwide可不可以理解为介短提前?
up
感觉从句意上来说还是A比较好,整个句子的意思是说磁场和pacemakers会相互作用,而这种相互作用会带来missed or irregular heartbeats, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, and even fainting等问题,
如果选D,主语变成了the magnetic fields and this interaction,逻辑意思不符合。

200, 000 of which type exist worldwide是做什么成份,which一定是指代前面的the magnetic fields emitted by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system,那么有没有可能把200, 000 of which type 看成是that 从句中的主语哪?
announeced that ... can, and that ...can,
i choose a,but i still think the structure 'of which' is strange.
which one is the correct answer?

33.A substance derived from the Madagascar periwinkle, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients, is cultivated in China as part of a program to integrate traditional herbal medicine into a contemporary system of health care.
(A) A substance derived from the Madagascar periwinkle, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients,
(B) A derivative, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients, of the Madagascar periwinkle,
(C) A Madagascar periwinkle derivative, which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients,
(D) The Madagascar periwinkle has a derivative which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients, that (E)
(E) The Madagascar periwinkle, a derivative of which has proved useful in decreasing mortality among young leukemia patients,
426.India is country with at least fifty major regional languages, of whom fourteen have official recognition.
(A) of whom fourteen have official recognition
(B) fourteen that have official recognition
(C) fourteen of which are officially recognized
(D) fourteen that are officially recognized (C)
(E) among whom fourteen have official recognition
738.The Emperor Augustus, it appears, commissioned an idealized sculptured portrait, the features of which are so unrealistic as to constitute what one scholar calls an “artificial face.”
(A) so unrealistic as to constitute
(B) so unrealistic they constituted
(C) so unrealistic that they have constituted
(D) unrealistic enough so that they constitute (A)
(E) unrealistic enough so as to constitute

A is the best!
我个人理解这里的意思和 of three people, tom is the tallest 类似
如果选A, 那后边的that变成与Researchers have announced that 平行了,问题来了,后边的this interaction无所指了
open to discuss
A is the best!
A. of which type there are 200,000跟 D.的200,000 of which type exist表達的意思根本就不一樣, 這個地方應是個插入語, 附帶修飾前面 system, 而D完全易客為主, 轉移了句子的重心.
顶
...
应该是A
支持A
因此,选A
Researchers have announced that
the magnetic fields (which are) emitted (所以emitted不是谓语) by one manufacturer’s security surveillance system, of which type there are 200,000 worldwide, can interfere with pacemakers and
that this interaction can bring on missed or irregular heartbeats, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, and even fainting.
GREAT!!
A
