For the record, there are many big laws in Milwaukee. Do you know it is the world capital of industry equipment? that is 5% of the total GDP in US.

Only one 750+ firm (MILWAUKEE) attended on campus interview at Wisconsin law school. So what? We are chinese JD students, you think it is easy for us to get a decent job there? 1% chance is still chance.
Iowa is better recongnized in US. It is much more potable than Wisconsin. Two of my classmates went to Wisconsin, they all transfered after their 1L. Wisconsin is famous for its own professor reproduction.
Maybe it is better recognized in China, because it is a very good university, not law school.

according to nalp directory, firms attended @ IOWA - 170, firms attended @ Wisconsin - 144

difference 26 firms.

was that such a big difference?

I am not here to debate which law school is better. Honestly, I will go neither one of them if I had to pay my own money.

But in terms of market, both schools are relying on out of town legal market which is a killer for foreign students. Next time, please try applying big city law schools if you want to apply schools out of T-20

I have already turned down IOWA.

It is too expensive... i cannot afford that.

Sorry, I have also turned down Boston College and Boston University. I thought they could give me some financial assistance, but they didn't.

So I have to pick up cheaper ones.

but it is ok

Thanks for all u guys' comments.

The University of IOWA ranks 21 , Does this matter much if it's ranking out of T-20?

Yeah, I would agree. Boston is one of the major legal markets. It will provide more opportunities for foreign students.

also, being in the blue states will help people who are not White.

OMG. I think in terms of money, the better the school, the easier to pay off the loan. Average time to pay off debt in Berkeley is one and a half year. For the long run, the worse the school, the more money problem you will have. (I hope I will get to BU.) Boston is a real nice place to live.

Then Wisconsin it is.  I really don't understand why you don't pick city law school such as BU or BC.  One of my friends' cousin went to Minnesota. She said BU would have better chance in job marketing than Minnesota though Minnesota ranked a litter higher. It is all about location.

BU, BC are so expensive... 3 years * 65000 tuition fees + high living costs in Boston.

I better find a rich lady to marry

Meanwhile, I don't want to discourage people who applied to BC/BU. They are decent schools, I just don't have that much $.

After working for several years, I understand sometimes school factor is not the only factor in determining the career. Others do as well.

I compared all the income coming out of law school in US News law school guide. BU,BC has pretty decent income.  Some school, you might pay less to go, but it takes you longer to pay off the debt because of salary and job. For me, I am going to borrow money anyway, it will be a huge hole anyway. I don't care deep or shallow as long as I can pay off.

I think law school is difference in terms of school factor. You can find a job coming out of any medical school. But law school, is a different story. Ph.D, might not be that critical to go to a good school too. I do think law or business school you need to get a good start. Since borrowing more or less, we are going to borrow money. We might as well do a very good investmen.

I am living in Boston. I like Boston even living expense is high.

Sigh..in reality, it is not true.

Chinese people here generally are poor and mean.

Canadian society is basically corrupted by these Chinese new immigrants and thus no salvage value in the so-called "chinese" market.

When looking for job, never find a chinese employer.

Don't use "corrupted" to describe your fellow citizen, no matter what.
Otherwise, you are cheap, no matter you are a good lawyer or not.

Sorry, it is not u who makes the order on what word I should or i should not use.

And it is not ur job to judge people on "cheap" or "expensive".

I am surely cheap but you are not expensive either.

"Corrupted" is, i think, an eulogy to describe most of the chinese people living here. Can I use "decayed" or "immoral"?

Guess you are not living in Canada but if you have chance, please come and take a look.

Blindly shielding a group of people from their moral responsibilities does not help them to improve their standard.

Take care

BY THE WAY, IOWA

Same would be true for UIowa.

General requirement please see the attached website.

http://www.patentbarbri.com/enroll/enroll_frameset.htm

You can also find all the info you need in the "United patent and Trademark office" website.

www.uspto.gov/web/offices/dcom/gcounsel/oed.htm
