标题: Job Prospect for PhD in Accouting and PhD in Finance

Which one is better regarding job prospect for PhD in accounting and PhD in Finance in a second-tier school? I want to know the job prospects for working in academia and industry. Thank you. Do finance professors get higher salaries than accounting professors?

seems so, but it is said the placement of finance in academic is not so good as before in these two years. But the placement of accounting is quite good compared to that of finance.

How about going to industry after earning phd in finance? is the school ranking very important?

Recently, job market for accounting PhD seems to be better than that for finance PhD. I guess it might be credited to the new CPA requirement of 150 credit hours which in turn forces schools to offer Master degree in Accounting and recruite new faculty as well.

I haven't paid much attention to the job perspect for PhD finance in industry. My feeling is that the fraction is pretty small.
