If I am correct guessing what you are talking about, it is called "Dean's List". It is basically given out every year/term within a school based on your GPA.

basicly no money reward. But the Dean's list note will be written on your transcript permanetely.

National Dean's List...

Now I know what are you talking about. Each school nominates some percentage of its top students (with the higest GPA) to this organization. There are thousands of students in hte states getting nominated each year. I was one of them when i graduated. No money rewards unless you are at the very top. (only 20 of the nominees get the money rewards, and the reward isnt terrific either). Then I was asked to pay $60 for the book with everyone's name on it. And i was also asked to pay $20 for a key chain, $30 for a coffee mug, all kinds of souvenire stuff. It is a good thing to have it on your resume, but i dont think it weighs much.
